Here you can find the remains of the old iron and wood industry. You can find a forest workers village with old buildings in a beautiful nature reserve.

In the Ryggåsstugan you can enjoy all kinds of Swedish treats. Take a hike (12 km) around Storsjön or rent a kajak with the Kayakomat next to Ryggåsstugan and explore the lake.

At around an hour drive you can find the closest big city, Borlänge. With a lot of city parks, the indoor shopping centre Kupolen and museums, it’s a beautiful place to visit.

Vansbro

In the village Vansbro you can find bigger supermarkets and the former locomotive shed where companies are established nowadays. In July the village is the setting of the yearly open water swimming competition, the Vansbrosimningen. This is one of the largest open water swimming competitions in the world.
